Abstract:
This dissertation seeks to show the relevance of motivation in the learning of a second language in a specific context (International School Eindhoven), exploring whether affective factors have an effect in the learning of English as a second language. Following the ideas of Gardner (2001), Krashen (1982), Lasagabaster (2011) and Dörnyei (1994), it is possible to state that motivation has a meaningful impact on learning, especially on the L2 learning.
